Interpretation of  dialogues  F/GO

Merlin does like to help humanity.

A big curiosity is that Merlin is said to help the master of Chaldea or humanity for his own benefit, which is to feed on human emotions. During his dialogues it is confirmed that helping is super simple (or natural) for him to help by eating, but in other dialogues he mentions as the pleasure of it or in his own words that the master of chaldea can count on him Especially with tips on romance!

Merlin doesn't like formalities or being called Grand Caster

This is mainly because of his invocation dialog as well as his dialog of the things that he dislikes. He himself says that he does not do well with formalities, or as it was translated in NA that he does not care about formalities, that you can only call him Merlin (Merlin-san in Japan). The other thing is that during the dialogue of the last ascension he says that he will live for the title of 'Grand Caster' and then he recants saying that he will fulfill what it entails to be Grand Caster as he can, but not carrying the title.

Extra...

This wouldn't be a headcanon, but it's one of Merlin's favorite dialogues. In Japanese according to the translation it says "Since you have a lot of free time, why don't you go out? At least what your physical condition allows.". I really like this phrase or dialogue from Merlin because despite being a magician eternally trapped in a tower in Avalon he tells you without any complaint or reproach of using your strength (which could be life) to enjoy the outside and in a certain way I makes you empathize with him.
